Last August (2023), I responded to an invite to show at Pondy, at Gratitude Heritage, a beautiful heritage property.

Over the years, I’ve been many things. I studied biochemistry, then pursued business administration, eventually working in several advertising agencies—first on the business side, and later in creative roles. But somewhere along the way, I found myself drawn to the world of visuals, both in art and commerce.

Quitting a stable profession to embrace the life of a photographer and visual artist was exhilarating. In those early days, it felt liberating to redefine myself, almost hedonistic. When you're young, you find solace in quoting Morrison and Bukowski, and pain often becomes your muse.

As I grew into my work, balancing the roles of commercial artist, writer, and creator, I realized I couldn’t keep splitting myself in two. Over time, I learned to see my work as more than just output—it became a mirror, a map, and a diary. Gradually, the inspiration that once came from pain was replaced by gratitude and compassion.

This exhibition brought together a mix of my art, photography, writing, and all the guiding angels that have shaped my journey. It was an great fun.

I’m deeply grateful to Radha Rathi for designing the show and shaping the experience, Minakshi for co-creating collaterals and installations, and Sid and Naushad for believing in me and making this opportunity possible.

The horse (inside our brain) keeps questioning the unicorn in us. Keeps messing around, trying to invalidate the magic.

Goodness and hard-work can’t be replaced. But one should dream of angels, of rivers of light that flow connecting everyone, of celestial beings that put us together and the music that comes to us from the gods.
