I took some pictures and made a photograph, 2020
photographs, illustration, digital collage

Time is the thread that can stitch and sew your memories together in the way you want. It is not a villain, just your friend.

I was stuck inside my home during the pandemic. But I had moved a new house just before and it was full of light, so it was okay. I had a lot of snapshots from point and shoot cameras, primarily for testing the cameras or films the last couple of years. When I was looking at the scans, I figured it was very honest and fun. Not like some of the sugar coated medium-format images or staged photographs.

As I kept looking, I figured that this was one way to respond to the loneliness. To create new memories using old ones. To take pictures and make photographs.

You can grab and move the collage elements with your cursor. Have fun!

“I took some pictures and made a photograph is an engaging response of Madhavan Palanisamy to being forced indoors after the social restrictions caused by the pandemic. He employed mixed techniques to create something opposite to isolation creating a portal where memories interact, collide, and collapse into each other to create a new image, creating a visual depiction of human relations adapting and evolving to the emergencies around.”
