I used to draw in school, mostly basic stuff - abstract colours, copies, that sort of thing. It was only after I quit working in advertising to pursue an artistic career did I start scribbling and doodling again. The drawings were super-rough, but they all had a few things in common. There were magical beings, animals, cosmic stuff, all floating around a gravity-less space. Everyone and everything in that world could be and do anything. Over time, the drawings got better and I also learnt to articulate the lines better. I began to trust them and started creating space for when they came visiting. I tried to acknowledge the fact that I might be channeling some messages for myself. I started trusting automatic writing too.

Life often breaks us into many pieces. That is how it simply is. If we are lucky and blessed we are able to put us back together and use art, spirituality, and humanity as the golden glue to make us whole again.

While doing an akashic record reading, one of my spritual teachers told me that my soul is from a parallel universe. I have come to visit earth to enjoy, “like a tourist”, she said. Maybe these beings are from that place, living a life that is based on choice and love.

Where time is bent and wound at will.

Where animals, plants and beings are all one and the same.

When I made these drawings, I called it “Family Album”, thinking of them like the bunch of pictures parents would have with some annotations.

Radha suggested I write a little something that could explain or make sense of the drawings, and went on to create this beautiful book for me.

We might change it to “Everyday is a Sunday“ in the future.

I am immensely grateful for these interventions.

I hope you enjoy these.
