family album, 2024
zine, postcards, accordion
I used to draw in school—simple things like abstract shapes, colors, and copies. It wasn’t until I left my career in advertising to pursue art that I began scribbling and doodling again. At first, the drawings were rough, but they shared some common threads: magical beings, animals, cosmic elements—all floating in a weightless, gravity-free space. In that world, everything and everyone could be and do anything.

Over time, my drawings evolved. The lines became more deliberate, and I learned to trust them, creating space for their arrival. It felt like I was channeling messages meant for me, so I began embracing automatic writing as well.

Life has a way of breaking us into pieces. That’s just how it is. But if we’re fortunate, we can gather those pieces and use art, spirituality, and humanity as golden glue to make ourselves whole again.

During an Akashic records reading, one of my spiritual teachers told me my soul is from a parallel universe. I came to Earth to enjoy it, “like a tourist,” she said. Perhaps the beings I draw are from that place—a world where life is guided by choice and love.

A place where time bends and twists at will.
Where animals, plants, and beings are one and the same.

When I created these drawings, I called them “Family Album,” imagining them as a collection of pictures with annotations—like the kind parents keep.

It was Radha who suggested I write something to give context to the drawings. She also brought this book to life, crafting it with so much care. We’ve considered renaming it “Everyday Is a Sunday,” but for now, it’s “Family Album.”

I’m immensely grateful for these creative interventions and for the journey that brought this project to life.

I hope you enjoy exploring these pages.
